Is it just you?

If nobody else reports a problem, try these steps first.

  1. Restart your modem and routerUnplug both for 60 seconds. Plug in the modem first and wait until its lights are steady, then plug in the router.
  2. Check your provider's appMost providers show outages for your address in their app or account page, and many can restart your modem from there.
  3. Test with a cablePlug a computer into the router with a network cable. If that works, the problem is your Wi-Fi, not the internet line.
  4. Check cables and lightsMake sure the coax, fiber or phone cable is tight. A red or blinking light on the modem usually means no signal from the provider.
  5. Contact your providerUse the number on your bill or the official app. Never call numbers posted in comments or search ads.

About this page

When your internet stops working, the first question is whether the problem is your provider or your own equipment. This page shows which internet providers people are reporting right now, where the reports come from and how often each provider had outages recently. If many people near you report the same provider, it is an outage and restarting your router will not fix it. If nobody else does, the problem is more likely your modem, router or Wi-Fi.

Frequently asked questions

Are internet providers down right now?

There is no widespread outage right now. Check the service you use above: if nobody else reports problems, the issue is probably on your side.

Which internet providers had the most outages recently?

We did not detect any outages for internet providers in the last 30 days.

How do you know a service is down?

People report problems on each service page. We compare the reports in the last hour with the usual number for that time of day; an outage is when there are many more reports than usual, from many different people.

My service is not listed. What can I do?

Search for it with the search box at the top of the page. If we do not track it, tell us through the contact page and we will look at adding it.
