isdownaustralia.com helps you check whether a website, app or internet provider is down for everyone or only for you. This page explains the limits of what the site can tell you.

1. General information

Everything on this site is general information. We try to keep it accurate and current, but we make no guarantee that it is complete, correct or up to date, and it can change without notice.

2. Status and outage reports

The status of a service is worked out from reports that visitors send and, for websites, from our own automatic checks. A page can show a problem that has already been fixed, miss a problem that only some people have, or count reports that turn out to be about something else.

The methodology page explains how the status is decided. For an official answer, check the service's own status page or support.

3. No affiliation

We are not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to the companies whose services we list. Their names and logos are used only to identify them and belong to their owners.

We cannot restore a service, recover an account or handle billing. Contact the company that runs the service for that.

4. Troubleshooting tips

Tips such as restarting a router, clearing the browser cache or reinstalling an app are general advice. They may not fit your device or situation. Follow them at your own risk, and keep a backup before changing settings or deleting data.

5. Visitor comments

Comments are written by visitors and show their own views. We moderate them but do not check whether they are true. Never call a phone number or contact an "account recovery" service you find in a comment.

The site shows ads and links to other websites. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, products or policies. A link or an ad is not an endorsement.

7. Availability of this site

We work to keep the site online, but it can be slow or unavailable at times, including during a large outage when many people visit at once.

8. Liability

To the extent permitted by applicable law, we are not liable for any loss or damage that results from using the site or relying on its information. The full rules are in the Terms of Use.
